It seems unbelievable, but GT-39 is now just one month away. If you haven't registered yet, it's not too late.

Online registration is available via the GT-39 website . Rooms are still available at the Courtyard by Marriott Ottawa East, the host hotel for this years big wing-ding. Details and an online link to reserve your room can also be found on the GT-39 website, or call the hotel toll free at 888-236-2427. Be sure to quote “NAMGAR GT39 2014” (group code NGG) to receive the group rate with breakfast included.

For those who are coming to Ottawa, below is additional information and updates that you should be aware of.

First and most important is some information for those folks who are planning to head downtown on Tuesday morning to see Parliament Hill and The Changing Of The Guard ceromony. This has turned out to be a very popular activity. Due to ongoing construction and limited parking in the downtown core, we will be providing bus transportation from the hotel to Parliament Hill, and back, for your convenience. For those interested, a nominal fee will be charged to help cover the cost of the buses. Look for an email from the GT-39 Registration team arriving in your inbox with further details. In order to ensure that we have adequate transportation for all interested participants, it’s crucial that you read the email and respond by the indicated deadline.

Don’t forget to bring your favourite red and white clothing and wear it to the Red & White Dinner Cruise on Tuesday evening. We’ll be departing from the hotel at roughly 4:30 pm. The boat leaves the dock at 6:00 pm so we expect to have about 45 minutes for a pre-cruise cocktail reception on the dock. It will be a ‘cash’ bar. They do not accept credit or debit cards, so you’ll want to be sure you have some Canadian cash on hand for that.

Remember to bring a small portable FM radio with you. You’ll need the radio in order to receive the audio portion of our ‘Drive-In’ movie on Wednesday evening. I won’t let the cat out of the bag quite yet, but our planned entertainment includes both a short and a feature presentation, and both with an MGA flare.

There are two recent additions to the activity schedule. On Monday, immediately following the Welcome/Orientation Pizza Reception, we’ll be running a Silent Auction to help break the ice and get some nice items into people hands. We’ll also be running an Arts and Crafts contest on Thursday in conjuction with the pre-banquet Cocktail Reception. Bring your MG-related craft or art work from home, or take part in the Craft Making session ealier on Thursday and enter your creation in the contest. Who knows, perhaps you’ll win an award.

In just a few weeks, you’ll all be heading out on your way to Ottawa and GT-39. We’ll be here, waiting anxiously to greet you on your arrival. As always, be sure to check the GT-39 website for any updates or last minute changes. Questions can be sent by email to the host committee.
