The GT-43 Ladies Wine Tasting...Bring a Bottle of Your Favorite Local Wine!

This NAMGAR GT is not all gasoline, oil, and wrenches! Your hosts for GT-43 have a number of activities designed for the ladies who may find a tech session on powder coating an MGA frame or determining the correct lubrication for a Magnette engine and gearbox somewhat less than exciting.

Among these events will be a relaxing Friday afternoon wine pairing and tasting experience – with a bottle of wine to share as the price of admission.

While Virginia is most popularly known for our numerous historical sites reaching back to the very roots of our nation, we are also home to nine distinct wine regions supporting over 300 wineries within the Commonwealth. Two of these regions are home to the Central Virginia British Car Club and the Mid Atlantic Chapter to the north – your cohosts for GT-43 in Richmond this year.

Although California has a commanding lead on wine production in North America with the Sonoma and Napa Valley regions producing internationally respected wines – the Finger Lakes region of New York, Texas Hill Country, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Michigan and yes, Virginia are among the various states producing award-winning wines that stand with the finest. British Columbia and Ontario are the larger wine producing regions to our north with smaller vineyards located in suitable climates across Canada. Each of our fifty states has a wine industry of some distinction capturing interesting regional flavors that set the vineyards apart from others.

Why is this important? With the GT being attended by NAMGAR members from many states and Canadian provinces, event host Cindi Urick is encouraging those that wish to attend the wine pairing and tasting to bring a bottle of your favorite local wine so others may experience the unique flavors of wines from across North America. We hope you will enjoy the experience of this special ‘tech session’ designed for those who wish to replace gasoline, oil, and wrenches with wine, cheese, fruit, and good cheer.
