MG Vintage Racers' (MGVR) has announced two focus events for 2016! To celebrate MGVR’s 35th Anniversary and 20 years of Focus Events they will be staging a mid-West event at Waterford Hills Race Track, Michigan, and a West Coast event at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California.

Waterford Hills Road Racing

July 29‐31, 2016 - Oakland County Sportsman’s Club, Clarkston, Michigan.

Waterford Hills is a 1.4212 mile road race course with 12 turns and numerous elevation changes located on the grounds of the Oakland County Sportsmen's Club. A challenge for drivers, it is also a spectator's delight with near full course viewing. MGVR celebrates 20 years of Focus Events by revisiting the track that started it all. In 1996 MGVR staged its first Focus Event at Waterford Hills Race Track ‐ by all accounts it was a huge success and set the stage for all Focus Events to follow. In 2016 MG will be the featured marque. Event organizers are encouraging T Series and PreWar MGs to join in the fun as Waterford Hills is perfect for all MGs! This event will include All‐MG racing along with group racing, and some of the best after‐race cuisine found at any track. Stay tuned as this event takes shape ‐ bulletins to follow! For more information visit the Waterford Hill website.

Sonoma Raceway at CSRG Charity Challenge

September 30‐October 2, 2016 - Sonoma Raceway, Sonoma California.

Sonoma Raceway (formerly Sears Point, Infineon Raceway) and Classic Sports Racing Group (CSRG) hosted our 2011 West Coast Focus Event to rave reviews from all who attended. For 2016 we’ll have the same challenging 2.52 miles of race track, same beautiful early Fall weather, plenty of track time with group racing and all MG races, and wonderful Wine Country hospitality. Plans call for the Inn Marin  to be our headquarters hotel once again. Vacation‐minded MGVRs are in luck as San Francisco is nearby as are dozens of world‐class vineyards and several other attractions and distractions. For more information visit the Sonoma Raceway website.

MGCR PosterFormer Honda F1 driver Ronnie Bucknum made his name in an MGB. Tazio Nuvolari used a K3 to blow away the opposition at the 1933 Ulster Tourist Trophy, beating the class lap record seven times!!! Carroll Shelby & Phil Hill raced TCs & Joe Huffaker made (and still makes) a career out of tuning them. Simply put, this event will feature all things MG. Scott Brown is the point man on event.

Simply put, 2016 will be an unforgettable year!
