"I am sad to report NAMGAR co-founding member, Len Renkenberger, passed away on November 18, 2012 at his home in Easton, MD from the effects of pancreatic cancer.

"Len served as our first newsletter editor and was a guiding force in creating the early personality of NAMGAR that continues to this day.

"A British car enthusiast; in addition to NAMGAR, he was later an active founder of the Triumph TR6 Owners Club, both of which became international organizations. He was a member of the local Chesapeake Chapter of the New England MG ‘T’ Register, the Mid Atlantic Chapter of NAMGAR and the Rolls Royce Owners Club. Len was skilled in restoration work and restored a number of British cars and wooden boats. He was well known for compiling several service and restoration manuals for British sports cars.

"From the beginning Len, working with wife Ruth, Mac Spears and John Wright, created the tone of NAMGAR by expressing an interest in the people who owned the MGA cars as well as the cars themselves. It was in these early years the adage of “It is the cars that bring you here, but it is the people that bring you back” became the unofficial slogan of NAMGAR. Working as a team, they were the promoters and organizers of events and issues of interest to the club members. Len and Ruth’s dedication in encouraging the formation of many of the early Chapters of NAMGAR led to NAMGAR naming the Chapter Spirit Award in their honor.

"In his retirement years, Len maintained an active interest in the progress of NAMGAR and, along with Ruth, hosted a number of Mid Atlantic Chapter and Chesapeake Chapter events at their home on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

"Those of us that had the pleasure of knowing Len and his love of the British car hobby and the people of the British car hobby will miss him greatly. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Talbot Hospice Foundation, 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, Maryland 21601 or Pets on Wheels of Delmarva, Inc., PO Box 3413, Easton, Maryland 21601".

I have fond memories of Len back in my early days as a member of NAMGAR...he & Ruth always made an extra effort to welcome the 'newbies'...he will be sadly missed, but in or memories forever!

God Bless,
Ron & Lynne Zeraldo
