What is the Connection Between Butch Cassidy & the MGs from Oz?

The eight Australian MGs driving through South America, Central America, and North America, being led by Dave and Laurel Godwin in their 1962 MGA, reached Tierra del Fuego on January 25th. They have turned north for the first time after 24 days and 1200 miles of driving southwards.

On January 29th, the group were in Rio Gallegos, and one car needed a replacement alternator. This was purchased for the princely sum of US$350, which some might consider to be daylight robbery. But perhaps appropriate, as the bank in Rio Gallegos was robbed by Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid on Valentine's Day in 1905.
