Hello MGA enthusiasts everywhere and welcome to the latest MGA eNewsletter.
We'll start with the usual round-up of news items from the MGA world.

Since the last eNewsletter we have news about Scottish MGA Day and full details of the MGA Register Autumn Weekend, which this year will centre on the beautiful downlands of Sussex. Chris and Janice Leigh are kindly organising this event for us. See below for full details of all 2012 events.

MGA Scale Models

If you are into scale models of our favourite sportscar be sure to go straight to the four-page MGA Newsletter in this month's Safety Fast. Phil Brown is looking into the possibility of having a 1:24 white metal model made. The moulds of South Eastern Finecast  were damaged some years ago, but if there is enough interest, it may be possible to have them re-manufactured. Contact Phil for more information.

Practical Classics MGA Comparison

A Frogeye-owning chum of mine recently loaned me a bound volume of Practical Classics magazines from 1984. I naturally trawled through these on the lookout for anything MGA related. Sure enough there were a couple of interesting articles, one involving a comparison with no less that seven other popular sportscars. The first article compares an MGA with an Austin Healey, Jensen Healey, Marcos, Morgan, Lotus Elan, Triumph and MGB GT V8.  The second article compares the MGA to the likes of the Scimitar, Austin A35 and Jaguar Mk 10, and others.

MGB50 Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire. There will be an MGA presence to mark the evolution from the MGA to the MGB. It is hoped that a suitable 1962 MGA can be located to display next to a 1962 MGB. If you have a suitable 1962 MGA that you would like to display please get email the organizers. This event is being organised jointly by the MG Car Club and the MG Owners Club. Click here for more details.

In a further development for this event, the organising team are preparing an MGB50 Birthday Book. Forms have been sent to all Natter Leaders and you can enter your car's details on one of these. These forms are being compiled between now and July, after which they will be bound into a book which will be held for posterity at a location, possibly the Heritage Motor Museum at Gaydon. This is not just for MGBs, it is an opportunity for all MG owners to record their congratulations to Britain's most successful sportscar. If you'd like to participate in this project, simply go along to your local Natter.

Saturday-Sunday, 29-30 September 2012

MGA Register Autumn Southern Touring Weekend A Tour of Sussex, based close to the M23 in the Gatwick area. Day 1 will follow the wonderful roads in the Beachy Head & Ditchling Beacon areas and include the famous Bluebell Line. Day 2 takes in Chiddingstone / Tunbridge Wells and the Ashdown Forest. Click here for full details and forms for hotel booking, and event entry.

Details of the above events can also be found on the MGA Register website.

By the time the next eNewsletter is published, in around two months from now, we will be well into the season. I hope you've got you MGA all ready for the road and for those of you still in the middle of a restoration, well, we'll all be thinking of you as we're driving our MGAs.

Happy motoring.
