Nominations are now being sought for the Registrar's position on the NAMGAR Board of Directors. To submit a nomination, please email the Chairman.  Please include as much applicable information as possible.

NAMGAR Registrar

Current NAMGAR Registrar, Ben Nolan, has decided to step down from the position. Following is a list of responsibilities and requirements.

The Registrar position is a key information conduit for members and prospective members. The Registrar maintains NAMGAR’s information database and processes new memberships, renewal memberships and member automobile information. The Registrar generates database reports, both periodic and ad hoc, for the Board, GT Hosts and publications. The Registrar’s ability to manage time is critical to maintaining the proper flow of information and material.

The Registrar should have a good knowledge of MGAs, MGA variants and MGA history to review incoming automobile data and answer questions from members and prospective members. The Registrar should be well versed in other automotive information resources to obtain data that may not be readily available from more common literature.

The Registrar must have a personal computer and access to the Internet. He or she must be familiar with word processing, spreadsheet and electronic mail software. The Registrar should also have a working knowledge of database software like Access™ or dBase™.

The Registrar works with the Internet Coordinator to develop and maintain the NAMGAR Website membership registration and the Treasurer for the membership renewal process.

To be considered for Registrar, one must:

  • Be a NAMGAR member in good standing.
  • Have demonstrated leadership skills at the local or national level 
  • Be willing to serve as Registrar for a period of three (3) years
  • Write an article for each issue of MGA! magazine
  • Attend the annual NAMGAR Board meeting and the annual GT

At the end of the Registrar’s initial term in office, he or she may elect to resign or, at the discretion of the Board of Directors, remain in the position on a year-to-year basis. A change in Registrar becomes effective once a replacement candidate is identified and installed into the position.

The Registrar can expect to spend approximately forty (40) hours per month performing his or her duties.
