The 2018 Mac Spears Award recipient is David McCann, Jr. “Famous Dave” as he has been nicknamed wears many hats at NAMGAR though most folks are used to seeing him in a brown felt one.

Dave is the man behind the “Where We Have Been" and the “Where We Are From” posters. He also creates the electronic files for the ballot and windshield cards for our annual GT car show. Many times he has laid out the car show field, put up class signs, taken photos, and taken down class signs in addition to calculating the winning cars for each class.

He also handles all the multimedia at the awards banquet from creating the slides to making certain that the photos of the correct cars are displayed in their winning order. He usually creates the Mac Spears award for the winning recipient, though this year that was done with the help of Dennis Urick and Dave’s parents. Back in 2011 he was one of the co-creators of the infamous and very much enjoyed “Rallye to Reno”. In the true spirit of our founders, Dave will step up to ensure that whatever job is needed to be done at the moment is done and as you can see plays an instrumental role in many aspects of NAMGAR.
